About The Event
From July 13-19, three members of our congregation -John Mailhot, Tami Lane, and Pastor Dave - will be participating in a mission trip to the Red Bird Mission in Beverly, Kentucky.
The Red Bird Mission has been empowering individuals and advocating for justice by providing spiritual, educational, health, and community outreach ministries in southeastern Kentucky since 1921. This isolated, rural area faces significant challenges including chronic poverty, lack of jobs, poor housing, and difficult mountainous terrain.
During the week-long work camp, our team will be immersed in vital housing repair and renovation projects for local residents in need. Potential projects include flooring, siding, bathroom and kitchen remodels, building decks and wheelchair ramps, painting, roofing, basic electrical and plumbing work, and more.
In addition to the hands-on labor, the trip will provide opportunities for spiritual growth through daily
devotions, evening programs, and experiences connecting with the local community.
