About The Event
Mark your calendars for a captivating afternoon of music spanning classical, spiritual, and gospel traditions as we welcome soprano Angela Watson and pianist George Francois on Saturday, February 22nd at 3:00 PM in our sanctuary.
Watson, an internationally acclaimed vocalist whose performances have been praised as "sultry and timeless", has shared stages with artists like Josh Groban and Patti LaBelle. Her versatile artistry spans opera, jazz, and R&B, garnering recognition from Saturday Night Live to Jazz at Lincoln Center.
Francois, a Juilliard-trained pianist, brings his mastery of classical, gospel, and jazz genres, enriched by performances across Ghana, the United Kingdom, and the United States.
Their 90-minute program celebrates the African diaspora's rich musical heritage, featuring classical works by Black composers in the first half, followed by Black History songs, spirituals, and gospel music after intermission.
